Revealing the misunderstanding of purchasing wool quilts
Revealing the misunderstanding of purchasing wool quilts
Misunderstanding 1: Wool quilts can only be covered in winter?
Wool has good warmth performance because it has the dual effects of moisture absorption and sweating. Just like using a quilt to isolate the temperature to keep the popsicle unmelted, wool quilts are also suitable for summer cover. The difference is that the wool quilt in summer is thinner and weighs less than 1kg; there are also special treatments on the material, which are suitable for use in air-conditioned rooms in summer.
Misunderstanding 2: Is the Chinese Mao Zedong better than the Australian Mao?
Australian wool is produced from Merino sheep, which is known for its softness and slenderness. There is a difference in quality of domestic wool. However, most domestic companies now purchase materials for wool products from Australia, commonly known as wool, and then process them in China. Even domestic wool, as long as it is produced by large enterprises and passed the national inspection, especially products certified by the International Wool Bureau, the processing technology and quality are trustworthy.
Misconception 3: Can it be managed with just sun exposure?
The wool quilt that can be taken care of by sun exposure alone is its convenience. However, experts recommend that if conditions permit, it is better to choose a machine-washed wool quilt. This type of wool is better in the carbonization treatment of wool, so wool has better elasticity and anti-felt properties.
Misconception 4: The more top-notch the material, the more comfortable it is?
Can wool and cashmere be mixed with better warmth and skin-friendly feeling? Actually, it is not the case. Cashmere has become the first choice material for high-end textile clothing because of its fineness and softness. It is also not suitable for making wool quilts because of its small fibers. Adding 10% or 30% cashmere to the wool will not improve its warmth. Moreover, because of the tiny cashmere fiber, the cover cloth of the quilt needs special treatment to avoid fiber leakage, which will reduce the comfort of the skin. At the same time, it should be noted that some irregular manufacturers use fine wool as cashmere addition, so they need to be extra cautious.
Misunderstanding 5: Is the blended material good?
There are many wool quilts mixed with other fibers such as silk and nylon on the domestic market. Can this type of fabric and filler have both strengths? Experts explained that the blending of wool and natural silk is already a popular fabric trend internationally, but the technology is in the research stage and there is no strong technology in China to support the emergence of reliable fabrics, so it is recommended that you choose pure wool products when purchasing in China.
Special reminder: The International Wool Bureau has only issued pure wool mark certification products for wool in China. If it encounters a quilt containing 50% and 30% wool marks, it will definitely be fake.
