According to official news from Manchester United, 6,000 new seats will be added to Old Trafford Stadium. The official announcement is as follows:

Manchester United has begun major expansion of the security standpoint facilities at Old Trafford Stadium, and will add 6,000 security standpoint seats on the second floor of the Stretford stands.

The project will double the number of existing safe standing seats on the field, making Old Trafford one of the leading venues in the Premier League's safe standing area.

The first phase of the seat will be put into use against Sunderland. However, the area will be temporarily licensed as a seating area during this game, and will not be used until the installation project is completed and officially approved by the Sports Stadium Safety Administration (SGSA). The

club expects installation to be completed by the end of October, but the SGSA formally approved the area as a safe stand-alone license may be issued later.

This progress reflects the club's commitment to continue to invest in improving the game viewing experience. Safe standing areas are considered to enhance the atmosphere on site and enhance safety.
