According to The Athletic, Liverpool is in deep negotiations on appointing Manchester United's youth coach for the club's U18 coach.

TA reported that Liverpool is in deep negotiations on appointing Manchester United academy coach Simon Wells as club U18 coach, and he will replace Bridge Wilkinson who left Liverpool at the end of last season. Wells joined Manchester United only last September as the head coach of the U14 team, and he had previously served as acting head coach of Salford and Fleetwood.

According to the plan, Wells will work with Anthony Ryan, who has been working at Liverpool's Academic College, who is currently the assistant coach of the Liverpool U18 team. Liverpool youth training has undergone major changes this summer, with U21 coach Letas leaving office and former Wales coach Rob Page taking over.
