Sky Sports: Edwards wants to sign Wilz in 2020, and the two sides have been in touch since then
According to multiple media reports, Wilz reached an agreement to transfer to Liverpool, with the transfer fee reaching 116 million pounds.
Sky Sports said that Fenway Group's football CEO Edwards wanted to sign Wilz as early as 2020, when the player was still playing for the Cologne Youth Team and has been in touch with Wilz's family since then. It is worth mentioning that Leverkusen eventually took Wilz from Cologne for only 200,000 euros.
Previously, German media Bild also stated that Edwards made a lot of efforts for this transfer and flew to Boston, USA in person, hoping that Fenway Group would approve the signing of Wilz.
