Sky Sports reported that Andy Carroll joined Dargenham and became a minority shareholder, and the Qatar consortium acquired the club.

Former Liverpool and Newcastle striker Andy Carroll has signed with England National League EFL team Durgenham. The 36-year-old signed a three-year contract with the team.

On the same day, the Qatar private investors consortium reached an agreement to acquire the club in full. According to Sky Sports News, Carroll holds a minority stake in the team.

Carroll played 248 games for three different clubs in the Premier League and scored 54 goals. Earlier this summer, former Manchester City forward and former Bournemouth coach Lee Bradbury became Duckenham's head coach and spent weeks finalizing Carroll's transfer. Although Carol received a higher offer from higher-level league teams, he ended up choosing Durgenham.

Carol has played for England nine times and scored 11 goals in 21 games while playing for Bordeaux. As a free agent, he was excited about the transfer and said it was like "going home" as he played for West Ham for seven years from August 2012 to August 2019.
