San Francisco chef launches dog restaurant where dogs can enjoy a meal for $75
San Francisco, USA, is a food paradise city with many Michelin-starred restaurants and is also a gathering place for dog lovers. So one chef decided to combine the two and create a restaurant that caters to dogs. This dog restaurant called Dogue will open in September 2022.

According to British media reports, this restaurant’s $75 (approximately RMB 545) dog dinner includes chicken skin waffles, filet mignon, etc., as well as baked goods for the dog owners.

The owner Rahmi is a dog owner. Before opening the store, he worked in a high-end restaurant. After resigning, he focused on the dog restaurant. Some netizens expressed dissatisfaction with the restaurant's price, which could buy at least five burritos at a nearby Mexican restaurant. But Rahmi said he has been loved by his customers since opening.
On a recent weekend, Dogue Restaurant held a birthday party for three dogs.
"I want to celebrate him (referring to the pet dog), he is so special to me, he is my child, and this is the perfect place to have a birthday party," customer Grady said, her 11-year-old dachshund enjoying mushroom soup and chicken breast slices.
Rahmi spends hours cooking and preparing to serve. He said that preparing a similar menu for people in this expensive city may cost nearly $500 because the ingredients he uses are not cheap.
"Making food is very time-consuming, and the pastries we make take an average of two days, although they are eaten within two seconds." Dogue's real goal, Rahmi said, is to increase people's awareness of feeding dogs. Research shows that restaurant-made dog food is better for dogs' stomachs than mass-produced dog food. Of course, when the dog eats well, the scrapper is also happy.
"I've worked in restaurants for many years, and as a chef, when I walked into this dog restaurant, every guest had a smile on their face, which is rare," Rahmi said.
