According to the UK's Metropolis Daily, a woman in the UK married her pet cat because there were always ruthless landlords who forced her to give up her beloved cat. Deborah Hodge, 49, changed houses several times because his landlord did not like pets. Last month, she lost her job and if she can’t pay her next rent, she could be evicted and will experience the pain of finding a house again, especially with the difficulty of finding a landlord who doesn’t hate her pets. Later Deborah thought of a solution: If she married Cat India, the future landlord would understand that she and the pet must be together. So Deborah wore a tuxedo and "tied up" with India at a folk ceremony hosted by her friend.

In a park in southeast London, the five-year-old cat was wearing a golden wedding dress and meowed in front of Deborah's family and friends. "It is the most important existence in my life, second only to my two children. In this way, I want future landlords to know that we are a whole and cannot be separated under any circumstances. I would rather sleep on the street than lose it."

When renting a house, Deborah was forced to give up her two beloved eskimo dogs, Siri and Starshine, because her landlord threatened not to let her live if she didn't give up her pet. After moving to her current home five years ago, her landlord ordered her to give up the cat named Jamal, otherwise she would drive her out.

Deborah said: "My heart was broken at that time. Pets have become a part of our family, and giving up on them will be a big blow to me." Deborah begged the landlord to allow her to have another cat, and after sending countless emails, the landlord finally gave in. In 2017, India joined Deborah and her two children's small family as she wished and became a beloved pet.
