In the 5th round of Group A of the third stage of the North American World Cup, Panama defeated Guatemala 3-2. In the standings, Suriname and Panama are in the top two with 9 points, and Guatemala is in third place with 5 points. They missed the World Cup one round ahead of schedule. In the final round of the group stage, Panama will face El Salvador and Suriname will face Guatemala. The group leader will directly advance to the World Cup.
